Education and Appalachian Audubon
Education is an important part of our mission, and it takes place through our free and open-to-the-public monthly community programs and field trips, the Kingfisher Courier (member newsletter), our website, outreach events, special projects and our Scholarships Program.We offer youth and adult scholarships as part of our mission to support the conservation and restoration of natural ecosystems through an educational, scientific and passive recreational focus on birds, other wildlife and their habitats.
Our scholarship funds are supported by member donations, the annual Native Plant and Bird-seed Sales, and Silent Auctions held at the annual banquet meeting in May and December holiday social. We offer some scholarships independently, some �in partnership� with other organizations. Some scholarships are full; some are partial; most are for youth, although we do offer one for adult Educators.
In addition, we welcome inquiries and suggestions from our members and members of the public in our chapter territory about financial support for attendance at other youth and adult camps consistent with our mission.
